There are a ton of new devices being unveiled at IFA
Berlin from the affordable Nokia Lumia 730 to the top-
end Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The Desire 820 is in the
middle of the market and will be an attractive
proposition for those looking for a new handset. The
Desire 820 release date is coming in late September/
early October, and it will be available as a dual SIM
model for some regions.
A talking point with this phone is its Qualcomm
Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, with four cores at
1.5GHz and four cores at 1GHz, based on 64-bit
architecture as expected. It has Adreno 405 graphics,
and a 5.5-inch display with resolution of 1280 x 720
and 267 ppi. It has 2GB of RAM, and 16 GB of internal
storage, expandable via microSD to 128GB.
Further specs include a 13-megapixel rear camera, 8-
megapixel front-facing snapper, a non-removable 2600
mAh battery, and BoomSound speakers. Connectivity is
taken care of with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n,
Bluetooth 4.0, GPRS, EDGE and microUSB 2.0. It will
release running the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating
system and will receive the Android L update at some
point.
The phone will come in a wide variety of color choices.
They are Blue Mist, Milky-way Grey, Flamingo Grey,
Saffron Grey, Tuxedo Grey, Monarch Orange, Marble
White, Santorini White, and Tangerine White. So far the
HTC Desire 820 price has not been announced, but the
company does say that it will be “affordable.”
Do you like the look of the HTC Desire 820 and its specs
sheet? What sort of price do you think it should be
available at? Let us know with your comments.
